Welcome to our 90th Anniversary Celebration!

Officially incorporated in 1921, 2011 marks the 90th anniversary of Aldersly, but according to the 10th anniversary booklet, the creation of Aldersly may have begun as early as 1905.

The building of a Danish Home for the Aged was mentioned in an article published in the Danish Lodge Helga’s newspaper. It was suggested that several prominent Danes, James Madison and Tivoli Larsen, should be the major donors.

It was not until 1920, on a trip from San Francisco to a convention in San Luis Obispo, that succeeded in winning James Madison’s favor for the cause. At a speech at the convention Mr. Madison announced he would lead the cause if $25,000 could be raised by the next convention.
