Dear Residents, Families and Associates,
Facing this pandemic has thrown us all into uncertain and unprecedented circumstances. Caring for our community compels us to do our best to protect the health and safety of our residents, employees, and guests. To this end, we have made the difficult, and necessary, decision to amend our community visitation policy to restrict visitors from entering all areas including Independent Living, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care effective Tuesday, March 17.
Per the order of the Health Officer of the County of Marin, we are also asking residents to shelter in place and limit appointments and activities outside of the community to only essential encounters. We understand the inconvenience of this restriction, but believe it is necessary as we work together to stop the spread of this virus. Please postpone all activities that will take you away from your home. If at all possible, please reschedule appointments outside the community or by visitors providing support in your apartment. Any essential visitor or vendor will need to check in at the front desk for screening and be limited to your apartment. In addition, the following changes will be occurring until April 3, 2020.
- Individual Resident Apartment housekeeping will be halted in Independent Living. Environmental Services Staff will focus on common area sanitation and provide other services as needed.
- Temperatures will be checked in the dining room. Self-serving stations, such as coffee, water and salad bar, will be halted until further notice. All residents will have salads, drinks and meals served by the staff.
- Meals served in the dining room will become more limited as we prepare for possible service directly to apartments. This will be decided case by case per each area of the campus. Residents may elect for meal delivery right now for no charge if they wish to self-quarantine.
We ask for your full cooperation in supporting these decisions. These are challenging times. We want to work together to do what is best and right for the seniors for whom Aldersly is home and for the employees who are dedicated to serving seniors. Nothing is more important than your health and safety.
We continue to track COVID-19 updates and directives from federal, state and local officials along with medical experts and will continue to follow their guidance in the days and weeks ahead. Please understand that we are in a very fluid and dynamic environment with significant changes occurring by the hour. Our teams are doing their best to minimize confusion and take care of your needs as quickly as possible.
