Coronavirus Update 05.01.20

Dear Aldersly Family,

I hope this message finds you healthy and well. As you may have seen, Federal and State Governments are beginning plans to reopen the economy to essential businesses. While this is an encouraging sign, we want to take a moment to explain what this means for all of us at Aldersly.

First and foremost, while we are all looking forward to the day when we can resume our lives as a community, take regular walks and socialize with our friends, the health and safety of our residents and employees must remain our highest priority. From the beginning, we have taken on this challenge as a marathon rather than a sprint. There are no shortcuts or easy answers to how we reduce our risks from COVID-19 and it is as important as ever that we continue to remain focused on protecting ourselves and supporting each other.

To that end, here is how we will handle the coming weeks: Marin County has announced the extension of the Shelter-in-Place order through the month of May. Aldersly will continue to follow the heightened precautionary measures that we have in place at this time – including social distancing guidelines and restricting visitors to only pre-scheduled visits at the visitation area. We understand the risks posed to our community from COVID-19 and remain committed to maintaining our processes. We’ll only begin to shift our protocols after we know our community is no longer at risk, and with careful consideration of the recommendations of public health officials. As the situation develops, and we make changes to our protocols, you’ll be the first to know – but to reiterate, we will not be modifying our precautionary measures at this time.

I recognize that it has been challenging for all of us to remain separated from friends and family, and I want to thank you for the sacrifices you are making to protect yourself and our community. I’m inspired every day as I hear how our community has found new ways to support and celebrate each other during these unprecedented times. While we’re not in the clear, we can all hope it will end soon, while being safe.

Thank you again for your patience and support. You embody that caring and innovative spirit which Aldersly is known for as we continue to navigate this process together.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or suggestions.
