Coronavirus Update 05.29.20

Hello Aldersly residents and family members:

These past few months have been a challenge and we thank you for your continued support of our community and of each other. Today, I have good news to share.

As I shared with you in my letter on May 22nd, we are following a three-phased approach to reopening Aldersly based on state and county criteria, advice from public health officials and the health status of our community. We will begin our deliberate process to reopen our community as follows.

Effective June 1, our community will enter Phase One of the reopening process during which physical distancing and masks will still be required.

The following activities will be allowed to resume:

• Staff-led small group activities, including group exercise classes outdoors

• Modified housekeeping (reduced time in each apartment)

• Scheduled outdoor dining experiences. Breakfast pick-up and lunch and dinner meal delivery will continue at all other times

• Continued Farmer’s Market, expanded to include Assisted Living

• Beauty and barber salons are still closed per county regulations

Visitors

We know you are eager to be with your family. Depending on residents level of care, we will have to continue limited visits in our visitation area from your spouse, partner or significant other in addition to powers of attorney individuals a little longer. Meeting location is near the Front Office and it must be scheduled in advance. While this is good news, we must continue to practice the precautionary measures currently in place, including social distancing and wearing masks. Screening processes will also continue.

We are all eager to be with one another, yet we must continue to act with caution. In the event we experience an increase or resurgence of the coronavirus in our community or in the region, it may be necessary to revert to a previous phase or modify precautionary measures. We will keep you informed as we continue to monitor the situation and evaluate information as we go forward, hoping to move to the next phase soon.

I am grateful for your ongoing support during this challenging time and I ask that you act with prudence in the upcoming weeks.

Thank you.

Regards,

Gilbert Carrasco
