Dear Residents and Families,
Last week, we performed a round of contact tracing for staff and a full round of testing for all Assisted Living and Independent Living residents. I am pleased to report that all tests returned negative. The staff member who tested positive in prior test has returned to work and we are working on our plans for the holidays.
We are closely monitoring the action plans of federal, state and local governments as they react to the spread of COVID-19 virus and the increase of hospital admissions. Due to the rise in persons infected with the coronavirus, the entire State of California is on high alert and the Marin County Health Department has reinstituted shelter-in-place orders for our area.
Starting December 11, 2020, Aldersly will revert back to Phase I guidelines. However, we have been granted some exceptions due to our success in prevention of a virus outbreak. The changes include:
• Restricted Visitor access to ONLY outdoor areas.
• Closing of Fitness Studio and Salon areas.
• Dining areas to remain closed.
• Small indoor group activities (under 8) will be allowed.
The Aldersly team will continue monitor the changes from the Marin County Health Department. We will keep you updated when changes occur. During the week, the leadership team will have regular communications to discuss our procedures as well as make adjustments to our plans day by day. Our residents will receive VoiceFriend messages when we make changes and we will update families through the same system.
We are so proud of our residents, staff and families for staying safe during the Thanksgiving holiday. We ask that you stay safe and cautious as we end 2020 and usher what we hope will be a much better 2021. Thank you for adapting once again to changing guidelines. I appreciate the support you give our team.
