Dear Aldersly Family,
Our community has suffered at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic over the last year and particularly, the past 4 weeks since the outbreak in Assisted Living. The entire country and world mourn as the deaths in the U.S. rise above 400,000 and the world reaches over 2 million. Our hearts still mourn the loss of our friends to this pandemic. We must continue to follow the guidelines of the CDC, the Marin County Health Department and the Department of Public Health. Working together we can stop our Aldersly and Marin County community from spreading this virus.
I end this week feeling hopeful. A strengthened commitment from our national leaders and the continued support of our local officials gives me a renewed confidence that we can end this pandemic.
With the support of CVS Pharmacy and the Marin County Health Department, we have fully vaccinated (both 1st and 2nd doses) 80% of Aldersly staff, and 97% of ALL our residents have received first dose vaccinations. By February 10th, we hope that those residents will receive their 2nd dose, meeting our objective to have Aldersly residents and staff fully vaccinated by the end of February 2021. Although the CDC has made alternate recommendations of vaccine distribution, Aldersly will not deviate from the original plan for 2 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and the 21 days between doses. We are confident in the science and original studies and will do our best to adhere to the FDA Emergency Use Authorization.
Please stay mindful of the guidelines put forth by our community and public officials. Do not let our guard down against this devastating virus. We will continue following the preventative measures we have set in place until further notice and we will keep you updated as changes occur.
Thank you for your support. I appreciate you and your commitment to continue to stay safe and healthy.
