Dear Aldersly Family and Friends,
The staff and I are excited that the country is opening up more with every passing week. It is a pleasure to see residents connect with families and friends they have missed over this past year and enjoying more of the events that we have on campus.
Going forward, we ask that the residents continue to let the front desk know when they leave and sign out at the Accushield kiosk. It aids the staff in case of an emergency and helps prevent food waste when the kitchen knows who will not be here for meals.
Marin County has some of the best COVID-19 vaccination numbers in the state. As of April 6, Marin has greater than 38% of adults over the age of 16 completely vaccinated. Regardless of this fantastic news, we continue to ask residents and visitors to wear masks, keep physical distance and stay outdoors as much as possible when socializing with others. There have been reports of communities who have been completely vaccinated, but still had residents and staff test positive for COVID-19. We must remain vigilant.
We continue to ask visitors to show proof of being > 2 weeks past the completed vaccination regimen. Visitors must come to the front office to sign in, show their cards and sign a COVID-19 Risk Acknowledgment & Waiver. At this time, visitors are not allowed in the common areas of Aldersly such as the Dining Room and outside seating areas. Non-vaccinated friends and family can visit with residents in the visitation area by the front office.
The Aldersly staff is looking forward to the future. We see the coming days and weeks as a time of ‘getting back to better.’ Much has been learned over the past year. We will continue to leverage technology to build on what we have learned so far, including online Zoom classes and calls, online grocery delivery, cleaning processes, and Avia Health. As things continue to improve, my update letters will arrive every other week with more information about the services we are incorporating at Aldersly to improve the quality of life for our residents.
The staff and I continue to be thankful for your patience and continuing support.
