Dear Aldersly Family,
This week brought with it many rapid changes. Please see below for updates impacting our community:
CDC New Guidance
As many of you know, this week the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a new guidance suggesting that individuals who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state or local laws, rules and regulations. Marin County continues to be bound by the mask mandate set forth by the California Department of Public Health. As a community, our recommendations continue to include wearing a mask at all times on campus. As the local laws change, we will make further recommendations for our community. Vaccinations, along with following all the other safety precautions, are the key to overcoming this pandemic.
Over the last several months, we have made steady progress towards reopening. While this has provided several exciting opportunities to reconnect, we continue to be cautious of the risk we take on with each new step. We will continue to choose safety first. Looking ahead, we will issue guidance on a single seating for each meal. This means that we will be moving away from complementary meal deliveries. For residents who wish to continue enjoying meals in their apartments, pick up will be made available. We expect to return to this process about Mid-June.
The first-floor renovations in Assisted Living have been completed. This week, the construction was taken upstairs to the second floor. The second floor will see similar updates but on a quicker timeline. We anticipate finishing renovations around August. At that time, we will take our first-floor Memory Care live. In the meantime, we will be working on recruiting and training the appropriate team members to work in the Memory Care setting. Pictures of the completed 1st floor project are attached below.
In an effort to make our campus more secure, Aldersly implemented a keyless entry system for buildings and resident apartments. This has been an exciting step towards integrating technology to meet our community’s needs. Unfortunately, a few locks on Independent Living apartments have experienced a mechanical malfunction. Our maintenance team worked quickly with technicians to get the issues resolved. We are coordinating a complete audit of all locks as a proactive measure to ensure other residents do not experience the same issue. Technicians will
be on site beginning next week on May 17th and will require entry to your apartment to complete this audit.
If you experience any issues with your lock, please notify the front desk immediately. After hours, security and Assisted Living Nursing can be contacted for support.

With the news for the future being so positive, our Staff continues to practice safety precautions to keep all residents and team members safe. We appreciate your patience and help every day. Thank you.
